Geisinger Tunkhannock holds opens house
Wyoming County residents and members of surrounding communities are welcome to hear from Geisinger leaders, tour the multispecialty clinic and afterward, enjoy food from Greenley’s BBQ and culinary students from Susquehanna County Career & Technology Center. Remarks will begin around 11:20 a.m., after which Geisinger employees will lead tours.
Like the previous location, the new clinic will offer primary care; women’s health; ear, nose and throat; pharmacy; laboratory; and imaging services. Outpatient care for neurology and general surgery will also be available.
Expanded services in the 32,000-square-foot facility will include outpatient cardiology, which is increasing from two days per month to three days per week, and hematology/oncology, which will grow from three infusion chairs and two exam rooms to six infusion chairs and four exam rooms.
The planned ConvenientCare walk-in clinic at the new site will be upgraded to a ConvenientCare+ model that will help address the county’s need for emergency services. There, patients can have advanced treatment for non-life-threatening emergencies like dehydration, excessive urination, high or low blood sugar, high blood pressure and episodes of atrial fibrillation (A-fib).
