REACH-HEI showed me that it is possible for me to pursue a career in medicine. It led me to pursue a major in neuroscience in college, where my fascination for neuroanatomy and psychology continued to grow. Now, I’m finishing my final year at the place where my journey began twelve years ago: Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. REACH-HEI truly was the catalyst for my career, and it gave me the resources, the ongoing support and the confidence to be the first person in my family to walk this difficult but extremely rewarding path.

We're so appreciative of the invaluable services and programs provided to our students over the years. Through hands-on experiences, mentorship and educational workshops, our students have explored their interests, developed their skillsets and gained the confidence and insight to be successful. The staff and volunteers have inspired our students to dream big, set ambitious goals and work tirelessly to achieve them. The support and guidance has empowered our students to overcome barriers, pursue their passions and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

I absolutely love the Pathway Programs here. The programs are so impactful. I never had anything like this as a kid. The participants in these programs are so fortunate to have these experiences. It’s a great way for us medical students to give back to the community, to share our passion for health science and to inspire future healthcare workers.

I began volunteering in Pathway Programs the summer before my MD1 started and haven’t stopped since. This is truly the best volunteer experience I have ever had. It is so rewarding to work with students from the local community and to help them see their own potential and all the possibilities ahead of them. The program provides excellent engagement, advising, and support on so many levels. I’ve witnessed some outstanding accomplishments of high school students this year. I think all MD students should volunteer in this program because it will also change your life.

Supporting the REACH-HEI program is one of the best investments Sanofi has made in the futures of the youth of Monroe County, where Sanofi’s vaccine facility is located. Through mentoring, job shadowing and other enrichment opportunities, the REACH-HEI program exposes kids to what it means to have a career in the STEM space. Further, it encourages these students to consider careers in biomedical and other life sciences. Sanofi is proud to be a supporter of REACH-HEI.

At The Dime Bank, we're committed to supporting education in our region. We were very impressed during our visit to Geisinger Community Medical Center to tour the REACH-HEI program. The students were engaged, and the hands-on experience was fascinating.
