HCPCS code S2900 not separately reimbursed

Effective Thursday, Aug. 1, Geisinger Health Plan will no longer separately reimburse for HCPCS code S2900 (Surgical techniques requiring use of robotic surgical system (list separately in addition to code for primary procedure)).

Geisinger Health Plan considers this service to be a technique inherent to the surgical procedure and not separately reimbursable. If HCPCS code S2900 is billed on a claim, no separate reimbursement will be made for this code. The reimbursement for this service is included in the reimbursement for the primary procedure. This reimbursement policy is applicable to all lines of business.
