Program overview

The first year (PGY-4) includes training in outpatient oncology, classical hematology, hematologic malignancy, leukemia and cellular therapy and inpatient consultation. Fellows will also spend time in the infusion center.

Year One

In the second year (PGY-5), you’ll train specifically in:

  • Apheresis and transfusion medicine
  • Radiation oncology
  • General outpatient hematology/oncology
  • Multidisciplinary cancer care
  • Hematologic pathology and coagulation
  • Classical hematology
  • Consultative hematology/oncology
  • Clinical cancer research

Year Two

The third year (PGY-6) includes training in:

  • Medical education and fellows as teachers
  • Palliative medicine
  • Board review
  • Electives
  • Research

Year Three


Fellows are required to complete a capstone research project and have at least 4 months of protected time to design and perform research

  • Multidisciplinary selective (thoracic, breast, GI)
  • Radiation oncology selective
  • Board review selective
  • Learner-defined elective
